Weekends

Weekend pet sitting jobs in Manchester

Manchester weekends are when dual-income households actually leave: Peak District, Liverpool, flights from Manchester Airport. Someone still has to do the 8am walk and the 6pm feed. Weekend sitting is a clean extra-income product if you protect Sunday night and do not let it leak into your Monday job.

LetzPaws founding sitters can publish weekend-only availability. 0% commission for 90 days. GBP rates. Neighbourhoods: Didsbury, Chorlton, Altrincham, city-centre apartments whose owners vanish from Friday noon.

Airport-pattern demand

Friday evening outbound, Sunday night inbound is a classic. Be explicit about last visit time Sunday. Owners who land at 23:00 still want the evening feed done. Price the late slot or do not offer it.

City breaks vs countryside dogs

Apartment dogs in the centre need extra walks if the owners are away — they cannot use a garden. Didsbury and Sale dogs may have a yard and need less intensity but more presence. Do not copy-paste the same weekend package.

Do not become unpaid house security

You are there for the pet. Taking bins out can be a listed extra. Hosting the owner’s friends is not. Put the boundary on LetzPaws so weekend extra income does not become a free AirBnB.

List weekend-only without apology

Founding-pro. Sitting service. Calendar blocked Monday–Thursday if that is your life. The right owners will book you every other Friday. That is a business.

Match the sit to the house, not to your Friday plans

A city-centre studio with a young collie is a high-walk weekend. A Didsbury cat with a microchip and a timed feeder is a low-intensity one. Price them differently. Ask about visitors, parking, and whether the alarm will page the owner at 2am if you open the wrong door. Weekend extra income is only extra if you still have a Sunday evening. Put a hard stop on the booking, then honour it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sit only weekends? +

Yes. Publish it clearly so weekday-only owners do not enquire.

What if a sit overruns into Monday? +

Pre-agree an extra night rate. Do not “see how it goes” at 22:00 Sunday.

Are weekends higher pay? +

They can be, especially around holidays. Only if you price them that way.

Student weekends vs family weekends? +

Students spike at term ends; families spike at half-term and summer. You can specialise.

How to apply +

Founding-pro — mention weekend-only if that is the product.

Can I sleep at home and only do drop-ins all weekend? +

Yes — that is a weekend drop-in package, not a house sit. Price three or four visits as a bundle so owners are not nickel-and-diming each feed.

What about last-minute Friday requests? +

You can take them, with a same-day surcharge, if you have already met the pet. First-time overnights should not start with a 17:00 “our flight is at 19:00” text.
